My Photo Gallery -Original- broken

May 15th, 2007

Yesterday I have noticed strange behavior reviewing my websites logs statistics. I have found that somebody was requesting my config.inc.php way too often, also a file .c.php was very suspicious. This all happened inside Original photo gallery writen by Jakub Steiner. I have closed my Photo Gal strait away. Today Jakub has posted about this vulnerability.

He has upgraded Original but now I am in doubt if I should restore my photo gallery. Will see maybe I will come up with something else as now, I am thinking about migrating to my own server soon ( months ).

F-Spot

January 29th, 2007

Finally got around fixing my f-spot library, had to remove old database and re-import all photos, surprise, surprise all tags were re-read from photo files and that saved my night… actually I would drop that task, if they would not re-appear in f-spot.

Great stuff, maybe some day I will get around to import missing photos and put something on the website.

FileOpen Plugin for Acrobat on Linux

November 13th, 2006

If you will have to ever use it ( I needed it for IDG.PL magazine called Net World )  the download site has some crappy hosting as it  eats  .gz when redirecting to archive

No worries adding .gz ad the end of URL and it works.

Backlog

September 2nd, 2006

I have a huge back log with sharing info .

Enjoy some of the photos from Bowling night outing with On-line team at the end of August.

I will try to find time and will to put more on the web , but when it comes to photos, my F-Spot is broken ( due to some Sqlite, Mono missed love ), may take some time…

I have got my ati-drivers back working in my system ( gentoo ) but I was playing too much with GL libraries and GLX is still on Mesa :( , will need to look at that. The problem was discovered when I tried to play Flight Gear ( which was recently updated and I can see some air traffic now! ).

Geeky update, bad night

May 7th, 2006

Yesterday, I have started a move from LiveJournal to my own installation of WordPress. It is finished now. It involved reassigning categories for more that 200 posts … at least I’ve corrected some obvious typos ;) Actually, you should know as you are reading it now.

I had a really strange night, when I went to bed, some helicopter was flying over my house for around 30m … could not fall asleep. And in the middle of the night I felt so bad that I was white like ghost … something wrong with food which I had earlier. Morning was also not the most pleasant, cracking headache.

Oh it works

March 26th, 2006

Appears that LogJam ( software which I’m using to update that livejournal.com ) has more support for Music players, and now it includes mpc what means that I can pull Titles from my nonstop playing Music Player aka laptop aka router aka mail server … :)

Bookmarks

March 10th, 2006

I’ve decided that del.icio.us lack of privacy, which I need for some of my links. I’ve installed my own version of Scuttle, its location. This project supports everything what I might think of, tag ( properly implemented ), RSS, easy to remember URLs, and privacy with 3 different levels. ( public, for subscribers, just for you ), and it allows you to import your del.icio.us bookmarks, what saves a lot of time.

History

February 8th, 2006

I’ve been reading on some forum and there was a link to web.archive.org version of some old site … this gave me the idea to check if they have my sites :D

Polskie Centrum REBOLa (Polish Rebol Centre) is there :D 6 years now
Different version, but without fancy shadow graphics, will have to search for ancient backups, while in Poland, to recover that piece of my history :)
