Is dead simple …. just remember, if you have used _any_ previous Beta or RPM version. use --purge not --remove when delete previous version… this will save you a lot of time, which I spent wondering why on earth it does not install in full/startup what ever …

In Absence of Console Cable , N770 strikes back!

Today, I was planing on playing more with my new router, unfortunately I have no console cable ( will arrive tomorrow ) and I was not hardcore enough to upgrade IOS on it.

I ended up installing new OS on my Nokia 770 , the 2006 edition. I have not used it for a while and I have not looked in to software repositories for it, for very very long time. Read more…

I just do not like when perfectly working system is “upgraded” to not working. Today I have upgraded my X.org X11 to 7.1 and … my Fglrx drivers stopped working. Does not matter which version, it just does not work due to binary incompatibility between modules and X11. crap! I had to merge f86-video-ati which does not support any acceleration … and now my Firefox is bloody slow! when scrolling.  Accutally , I would love to know why…

That situation makes me think about some Portage tweak. It has warned me that my ati-drivers are blocking xorg-server-1.1 ( or some other latest number) but this block has stopped whole upgrade for my world… what if it would just tell me that this and this will not be upgraded due to this block, and carry on with stuff which does not depend on blocked ebuilds. And when all new versions will reach portage it will upgrade remaining software.

Second tweak would be to rollback last X upgrades. Like in my situation I found my system malfunctioning after upgrade, and I would like to rollback to previous working perfectly ( OK, almost ) state. emerge –rollback ati-drivers-X.X.X and all software which is blocking because it is to new would be downgraded. Cool!

To be honest … it might be there, but no body told me about it( GWN? ) and forums are just too crowdy.

my god, debian is the most ideological designed distro/PM system, in it’s docs, there are no concrete date about design of PM, but idealogical crap how they split to us, non-us, free or not, damn i want to know what do you have under the hood, not how free you are

Ok it was my fault, i installed gtk# libs in to wrong directory.

Remember ( howto install Mono&gtk#):

+ Install Mono,
+ add it to the PATH(manually)
+ Install Gtk# in to the same dir, where is Mono installed

:)

I took some screenshotz from Kpackage ( knoppix 3.3 )

I’m at parents home now. Was trying to setup .Net and GTK# to run #Reduktor in here, but it doesn’t work, i don’t know why. As usual on Windows it does not Work. I don’t know why people use that crap, and PAY for it.

Today i should also finish Kpackage from my dissertation, but you know, maybe i will…
