Yesterday, I was in Poland, having good time with my family.
Yesterday, we had a bonfire at night and my father pulled out his telescope. Just looking at some stars wasn’t that of any fun, they just appears as dots – fact, there is many more than with naked aye, but these are still dots.
After a while we started to hunt for other celestial bodies and with computers help we have discovered that only visible planet will be Saturn. After some rumbling about how hard it will be to find it, we got it in our sights.
What a pleasure and defining moment when you look at a distant planet and you see it as more than just a light source, we have seen it’s colours and rings! Amazing experience. It gets you thinking about your existence. TV/Screen does not give you that kick, only ‘live’ view …
It’s 4 days long bank holiday weekend in UK. I am enjoying it in poland. It’s great to grab a drill and do some personal projects like a mini server room for my parents, all with racking and proper ventilation.
I’m missing purely technical work sometimes, management function more often becomes annoying and this is great break away.
Work wise :
Companies which I work for recently decided to move into single location ( down from 2 ) , both sites have independent systems. The move date is set so early in time that there will be no time to integrate them at the time.

Not yet work wise:
A while ago, I decided that I will pilot aircraft. I had one trial flight booked for last Sunday, but it was cancelled due to weather conditions. I have rescheduled that for coming Sunday. I have a trial flight arrangement with British Airways Flying Club on a Piper Warrior. If you know good/cheap flight schools which can take me up to CPL or ATPL I would really appreciate.

Recently I had a pleasure of watching season of Generation Kill. I can say that I loved it. Would like more.
2 days ago, I came back from my holiday.
It was great time spent with my family. Just two days were spoiled by work issues, that’s an achievement!
Now it’s time to get to real life. Start buying presents for Xmas and think about New Years Eve.
I’m still immersed in the Spinward Fringe books. Looks like I will have to wait to read Broadcast 4 Frontline as MobiPocket still doesn’t have it.
